Singer Stevie Nicks says Fleetwood Mac exists because she aborted her child…

This is tragic! 😭

Singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks said in a recent interview that Fleetwood Mac would not exist had she not aborted her child in 1979.

The Fleetwood Mac singer told The Guardian that since Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s death, “women’s rights have been on [her] mind.” She said that abortion is her “generation’s fight,” adding her abortion story.

Nicks got pregnant while dating Eagles lead singer Don Henley and during Fleetwood Mac’s “height” of fame.

“If I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,” Nicks said. “There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs. I was doing a lot of drugs…I would have had to walk away.”

“And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy. And I thought, ‘You know what? That’s really important. There’s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my world’s mission.’”

Nicks added her concerns for the future of abortion rights after Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Barrett is pro-life, a devout Catholic, and a mother to seven children.

“If President Trump wins this election and puts the judge he wants in, she will absolutely outlaw it and push women back into back-alley abortions.”

However, if the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade, reports say the states will decide abortion laws.

Catholic Church teaching on abortion:

Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2270)

“Since the first century, the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law…” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2271)

Our Lady of Guadalupe, please pray for Stevie Nicks!
