On Easter Sunday, the Blessed Sacrament visited our home…

Yesterday morning, just as we were finishing up live-streaming an Easter Sunday Mass, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the most precious Blessed Sacrament visited our home. We were one of the first families from our parish to receive this amazing Easter gift that will continue throughout the Easter Octave.

With assistance from our parish Knights of Columbus Council #13779, the clergy composed of three priests and a deacon are bringing Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament to the parishioners of Saint Mary Magdalene.

Our home

Our sister parish here in Gilbert, Saint Anne Catholic Church, started bringing the Blessed Sacrament to their parishioners last week on Palm Sunday, and the last I read and saw on Facebook and Instagram, they are continuing to do so. I remember seeing this last week on Facebook from friends who attend the parish. My wife and I thought it was pretty awesome. When I heard that our parish was going to do it, I jumped at the chance to have Jesus come to our home.

The devotion to Eucharistic Adoration is important in both parishes since both parishes have perpetual adoration in normal circumstances. My family and I feel incredibly blessed to live in a town where the Pastors from both parishes know the importance of the Holy Eucharist, most especially when we are unable to receive the Holy Communion.

Having Our Lord come to our home yesterday was simply amazing! As the Fr. Steve was turning away to get back into the truck that was driving him around, I started to shed tears. I realized at that point how much I miss receiving the Holy Eucharist.

Fr. Chris Axline, Pastor of St. Mary Magdalene

We should always remember now and after our current situation comes to an end –

Because Christ himself is present in the sacrament of the altar, he is to be honored with the worship of adoration. “To visit the Blessed Sacrament is . . . a proof of gratitude, an expression of love, and a duty of adoration toward Christ our Lord” (Paul VI, MF 66). – Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1418.
